Amundi strengthens Asia leadership team
Eddy Wong named as Asia CEO, Xiaofeng Zhong as Asia vice chairman

Amundi has appointed Eddy Wong as CEO Asia, effective November 6. He becomes a member of the firm’s executive committee.

In his role, Wong will lead the asset manager’s operations in North and South Asia as well as its joint ventures in mainland China.

Xiaofeng Zhong, currently chairman of Greater China, is appointed vice-chairman of Asia.

Prior to joining Amundi, Eddy Wong was CEO of JPMorgan Asset Management China, driving the unification of the China business and overseeing its business strategy across different functions.

Before that, he was chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Asset Management Taiwan and head of funds business in Hong Kong and China. He also held various senior positions with Eastspring Investments and HSBC Asset Management.

Wong has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto, with a major in economics and a minor in East Asian Studies.

Zhong was chairman of Amundi Greater China since 2020. He joined Amundi Hong Kong in 2011 as deputy CEO, sales and marketing, and was then appointed CEO of North Asia in 2012. Prior to joining Amundi, Zhong worked at Groupe Crédit Agricole, holding various positions in France and Greater China mainly within the investment banking arm.

Zhong has a PhD in political studies from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris, DEAs (postgraduate diploma) in political studies and international relations from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris, and an MA (French language and literature) from Sun Yat-Sen University in Guangzhou.
