Crédit Agricole CIB has appointed Christophe Crétot as head of international trade and transaction banking for Asia-Pacific, effective March 10. He succeeds Laurent Proutière, who has taken on the position of chief executive officer of Asia for Indosuez Wealth Management.
Crétot reports to Jean-François Deroche, senior regional officer for Asia-Pacific, and Yves-Marie Gayet, global head of international trade and transaction banking, at Crédit Agricole CIB.
Based in Singapore, the bank’s regional hub for its international trade and transaction banking arm, Crétot will oversee all business activities related to export finance, commodity finance, trade finance, receivable and supply chain finance, and cash management, for clients in the Asia-Pacific region.
To better accompany them in the financing of their working capital and international trade needs, he will continue to strengthen Crédit Agricole CIB's regional product offering, notably through cutting-edge digital and ESG solutions.
Crétot’s stint with the Crédit Agricole Group began with Indosuez Wealth Management Luxembourg as a fund manager in 1996. He started out in Crédit Agricole CIB in Paris as credit analyst and further relocated to London as loan originator for French and Nordic companies.
Then, he was successively appointed head of loan origination for EMEA in 2012, head of corporate origination for Asia-Pacific in 2015, head of debt origination and Advisory for Asia-Pacific – the joint venture between debt capital markets and loan activities, in 2018, and most recently head of corporate and leveraged finance for Asia-Pacific in 2022.
