Owen Chan has extensive experience advising financial institutions, private equity funds, multinational corporations
The Asset   3 Oct 2025

Global law firm Hogan Lovells has appointed Owen Chan as its regional managing partner for the Asia-Pacific, effective October 1. He will also join the firm’s international management committee.

Based in Hong Kong, Chan has been with the firm since 2008. He is a partner in the corporate and finance practice and has extensive experience advising financial institutions, private equity funds and multinational corporations on complex financing transactions, as well as regulatory and insolvency matters.

Chan has built a strong bilingual team advising under Chinese, English and Hong Kong law, working with both Chinese and international clients.

He served on the firm’s board for six years, representing the region. His appointment, the law firm says, reflects both his leadership within the region and the strategic importance of Asia-Pacific to the firm’s global growth trajectory.

“The region is experiencing rapid change and opportunity, and we have been strengthening our capabilities to meet growing demand,” Chan notes. “We have added 12 new partners in the region in the last year alone, across mainland China, Singapore, Hong Kong and Vietnam.”
