US fund manager Capital Group has appointed Summer Tang as its director of institutional business for Southeast Asia, reporting to Lisa Leong, managing director of institutional business in Southeast Asia.
Tang, based in Singapore, is responsible for developing and deepening relationships with institutional clients across Southeast Asia, while bringing the asset manager’s investment capabilities to clients across the region.
She brings a decade of asset management industry experience working with institutional clients, with a focus on Southeast Asia. She joins the company from Brookfield Asset Management where she managed relationships with institutional investors across the region.
“Tang brings deep knowledge of Southeast Asia’s institutional landscape,” Leong says. “It is a strategically important region for us, with institutional investors increasingly seeking long-term partners and tailored active investment solutions.
“Her experience will be valuable as we deepen engagement with our clients and consultants, and continue bringing our active investment capabilities to institutional investors in the region.”
